[Rgc] Next JOINT meeting of Run Group C and Polarized Target Group

Dear all,

On Thursday, December 10, we would normally have our polarized target meeting. However, since we missed our RG-C meeting 2 weeks ago (US Thanksgiving Holiday), it is paramount that we also set aside some time to discuss the next steps for RG-C in general (our next scheduled meeting will ALSO be preempted by a Holiday). In particular, we have been asked by Hall B leader Marco Battaglieri to produce a (shortish) document explaining how we are planning to run the remaining 120 days of RG-C in the aftermath of PAC48 jeopardy. This document will be presented to Bob McKeown, and if it is cleared by him (perhaps after consultation with the PAC chair, Markus Diehl), will allow us to move forward with our planned 2022 run. This has to happen in time for the next round of run scheduling meetings, and Marco has given me a deadline of December 14 (one week from yesterday). I have prepared a first draft of that document - see
https://userweb.jlab.org/~kuhn/RGC/RUN_PLAN2_FOR_RGC.pdf
I am awaiting some preliminary simulation results to fill the empty subsection, and more generally any and all input, comments,… you might have. Note that I will have just the weekend to implement any changes, so please try to be as constructive (and concise) as possible. We will discuss this document further on Thursday, and hopefully will have a quorum of contact persons (or their designees) to agree on it.

For this reason, the meeting will start at 9:30 as is customary for RG-C meetings, and we will first focus on this urgent business. I hope we can conclude around 10, 10:15 and then segue into a planned presentation on the present status and plans for the polarized target. You can find the agenda at
https://clasweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/RGC-December10
(we will keep discussions on the Moller shield and the simulations focussed on what’s needed for the document).

Looking forward to joining with you on Thursday - Sebastian
