Dear volunteers,
with just 2 months left before the beginning of RG-C, I am trying to set up an initial plan how to cover all 39 weeks with Run Coordinators (yes, it’s scary). Please take a look at the RC Volunteers page - https://clasweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/RG-C_RC_Volunteers - and in particular at the RC Schedule (blank so far) in both .pdf and Excel format. Then send me an email indicating which of the slots (indicated by start date) you could possibly fill. (Remember, a RC shift starts Wednesdays at 2 p.m. and extends until the following Wednesday at 2 p.m.). For now, please indicate in particular your availability early on - we will have more time to fill the later time slots (in particular in 2023).
I will collect your responses and then try to come up with a semi-reasonable first draft of the schedule.
Meanwhile, please join the RGC email list serve if you haven’t done so already, and attend the RG-C meetings if you can (next one will be this coming Tuesday, April 12, at 8:15 EDT - see https://clasweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/RGC-Apr12 for the agenda.) Of course we’d be happy for additional volunteers!
- Sebastian
P.S.: In addition to RCs, we also will need “target experts on call”. These people will be on a rotating schedule as well and will be called to either remotely optimize or troubleshoot the target polarization, or to come on-site if necessary for both routine (target swaps) and repair work. There will be a golden opportunity to train to become an expert during the month of May, when the target will be transported to the Hall, assembled and made operational. (We hope to have at least a couple of weeks of dry runs with polarized samples before the begin of the run). Again, please let us know if you are willing to volunteer for this fun opportunity!
