Welcome to RC summary october 14:

Overall better 24h than the previous day.

We got beam back around 12:30pm yesterday and took production data on Carbon till this morning 8am for the planned downtime for accelerator reconfiguration (2nd pass HallA and Wien angle change). However, we got some problems along the way

During swing shift, several raster trips occurred correlate to change of LCW flow (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4058051). Flow was stable after 9pm and no more raster trips occurred.
We also got RICH Sector 1 LV and HV alrms which were not solved with RICH reboot. We tried to contact RICH expert unsuccessfully so we kept running throughout the night without the RICH in Sector 1. This problem was caused by a communication issue from the ioc and solved in the morning by iocreboot. Nathan updated RICH recovery procedure to include this reboot so that the problem will be solved by RICH recovery procedure from now on.

Around 8 am in the morning, torus tripped again and took the solenoid with it. The torus trip most likely is caused by the same problem from Wednesday evening. The magnet group looked into it and it is a problem in the power supply which also requires some help from DC power. No estimate yet when the problem will be solved. In the meantime solenoid is cooling and we hope to ramp it soon. This will allow the target to be polarized.

The target group switched to the new NH3 target and awaits patiently for the solenoid to ramp so that we can start polarizing the target.

The plan for tonight is to get beam back and do Moeller runs with both HWP states in cooperation with HallA. Then usually checkout of the beam on the target and continue production with flipped solenoid field.

We have a RC meeting at 2pm today.

Best,
Florian
