RC summary Oct 15

Welcome to the late late RC summary:

We got beam back at 8pm yesterday and did checkout. Harp scans were good and we did Moller runs with 1/2 wave plate OUT (-82.7%+/-1.26%, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4059176) and IN (80.95% +/- 1.41%, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4059208). Target reach a polarization of 61.3% (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4059129).

Afterwards we checked beam to FC and raster setting. Both deemed to be good.
Around midnight we got communication issues with the RICH. Recovery didnt help and we couldn't reach expert (it went automatically to voicemail due to a phone setting - this is fixed now). The RICH problem was solved in the morning by Nathan.

Overall a smooth running in the meantime with 8nA beam. We collected 150M triggered events with 1/2 plate IN.
Around 11am, HallA changed plate back to OUT for the Moller runs. We kept the setting and collect data on OUT. We will switch again on Sunday.

Per suggestion of Eugene, we tried to change raster offset in x because of some excess on right side. However, adjustments were not really helping so we kept it as it is (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4059778).

Production running was interrupted by a 2K cold box trip of NL around 7pm. Estimated time of repair is 5-6h and we hopefully get beam back during the night.
So far we have about 150M events collected with OUT

Plan: Bringing beam back to hall and continue running production till Monday morning. Denny organized the cleaning of the torus and solenoid cooling lines for Monday which hopefully prevent other torus trips.

No RC meeting tomorrow but I will do the update much earlier :)

Best,
Florian
