<p class="MsoNormal">the Vpp = 2 V is based on the extensive raster study done yesterday (see the Google spreadsheet which is linked to an entry right after yesterday’s Day Shift Summary). I personally still would prefer to try a SLIGHTLY larger raster (Vpp
= 2.4 V) just to see if we can run that way, now that the beam centroid has been shifted to optimize (minimize) the asymmetry on the FT. On the other hand, we have an asymmetry on Region 1 where Sector 1 has much higher occupancy than all other sectors (actually
it fluctuates from run to run, and we lost beam before we could confirm one more time. Given the troubles the accelerator has with beam, it could also be that beam fluctuations are at fault). At any rate, we ran out of things to try (let alone run a decent
amount of C production data) because of the lousy beam availability. We’ll look again once we have the NH3 target and beam.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The period of course should be 5 s (although it’s not entirely clear what the tradeoffs are and what the best period is). I suspect it ended up being 1 s because the shift experts read only part of the short-term schedule which instructed
them to FIRST re-initialize the raster driver (as you recommended) and then to set the value back to 5 s (that part got skipped). No big deal, I hope.<o:p></o:p></p>
