[Rgc_analysis] [EXTERNAL] HBT reconstruction data for target polarization measurement

Hi Sebastian,

Here are my NH3 target polarizations. What is interesting to me is that there seems to be some resemblance of a pattern in the FCup asymmetries. These plots were produced with my bug fix from the RAW::scaler bank.

Hi Gregory,

just curious whether you have been able to check the most recent results on NH3 polarization?
Anyway, I guess we’ll be talking about the status of various analyses tomorrow at Silvia’s meeting.

Indeed, the 16995 was included, and showed up on the asymmetry plot, but the point was so high in the TPOL plot that it was cut out.

The NMR shows higher polarization after the anneal. The asymmetry we get seem to indicate consistently higher than NMR polarizations in the beginning. We can revisit our values for the dilution factor. We may be using too optimistic values. In any case polarizations look great, compared to what we had before.

Best,

Harut

Very nice. Your result is even more polarized than Harut’s. I guess we still don’t have a clear understanding where the difference (even in trend) comes from - it MAY be the different method, but it would be good to first check that you get exactly the same raw asymmetry (N+ - N-)/(N+ + N-) as Harut, and if not, if you could compare once again cuts, counts, distributions in W, x and Q2, etc.

Hi Sebastian,

Since we have some difference in the counts, the small difference in the asymmetry is not very surprising. Possible differences may come from slightly different cuts on the sample, including the handling of undefined helicities. We will spend some more time to figure out where the differences are coming, and that will be critical for final analysis note, but for monitoring purposes we should be OK, as we seem to agree on initially higher target polarization compared to NMR right after annealing, going below the NMR values after some time (dose).

Best regards,

Harut

I updated the plot, also adding the latest 16968 (see https://userweb.jlab.org/~avakian/tmp/all-rgc-run-dep-16885-16970.nd3.pdf<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https*3A*2F*2Furldefense.proofpoint.com*2Fv2*2Furl*3Fu*3Dhttps-3A__nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com_-3Furl-3Dhttps-253A-252F-252Furldefense.com-252Fv3-252F-5F-5Fhttps-253A-252F-252Fuserweb.jlab.org-252F-2Aavakian-252Ftmp-252Fall-2Drgc-2Drun-2Ddep-2D16885-2D16970.nd3.pdf-5F-5F-253Bfg-21-21OToaGQ-21tSRCDp1Vzw8o7goEZk1DdEVDn-2DTyeeJHeXvS7F8HhITq39ZDts-2DVexWRJEsfPzqF1SEAZQw4nYO1zlMsXzSkYR1E1uZkVXryVw-2524-26data-3D05-257C01-257Cskuhn-2540odu.edu-257C77400bcafe204512062108da976ba06b-257C48bf86e811a24b8a8cb368d8be2227f3-257C0-257C1-257C637988785755538152-257CUnknown-257CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0-253D-257C3000-257C-257C-257C-26sdata-3DpP828YqJ3U-252B7qnCMrF7KVJDTTgTigcpe-252BxyFKsuElDU-253D-26reserved-3D0*26d*3DDwMGaQ*26c*3DCJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw*26r*3Du4TGOt4ki-dAmdtRb6Ukq27ST41xQlt0kmTbVWWmIzk*26m*3D0p-DDM-xOxQ0fBYlsu9V7fp5pqHj5azoh62uGzP88XJAoWbjN84T6d92XnAOC07O*26s*3DJHYX97QwwDKHpgkQO8JR_nwfWvDCKavdJvO0cHZzP_0*26e*3D&data=05*7C01*7Cskuhn*40odu.edu*7C5cc562bec5c447d84cdd08da9a50d4fe*7C48bf86e811a24b8a8cb368d8be2227f3*7C0*7C1*7C637991969218331018*7CUnknown*7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0*3D*7C3000*7C*7C*7C&sdata=ujJpgVQETMORdJxSJGFHBsk3nHZB9TXcgAx2g2cHI8Y*3D&reserved=0__;JSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSU!!OToaGQ!oFGFMFAU2yBRtrKIugXbEJwu2OKJ8SrChCyzvaMZqpOUM1y_Ov-9AJhGuBIlLhP4rR_LLOnzKNj6q3SrC-M$> )
Seems the polarization, even accounting for possible contributions from charge asymmetry is not great.
Best,
Harut

Hello Harut,
The first 300 files from runs 16947 and 16951 have been cooked, using HBT only and trigger Mask on the electron, and skimmed for your target polarization analysis. The data can be found under the same directory /volatile/clas12/rg-c/production/ana_data/dst/train/
