Dear all,
I am just documenting some discussions that transpired between the attendees during the last R_SIDIS meeting.
Personnel present at the meeting: Ed Kinney, William Henry, Shujie Li, Provakar Datta, Casey Morean and myself.
1. 10 shifts to be on one experiment publication and 12 to be on both experiments (although the numbers 8 and 10 are also floating around).
2. 1 week of RC duties = 7 shift points (since some weeks could heavy and some light, but all require some level of daily coordination and reporting).
3. Owl shift = 1.5 shift points
Ed agreed to discuss these numbers with other spokespersons. Anyway, it would be great if we could converge on these numbers/topics by the next meeting so I can relay the information to our international collaborators who plan to take shifts in both the Halls during their limited stay.
Best regards,
Arun

Dear Arun,
I have not been at all meetings but I believe this came up in a meeting some 2-3 months back. I think Dave made notes. From memory, we would integrate both experiments, i.e., shifts would count for them combined, we would have the multipliers (I think it was 1.5) for the owl shifts, but we felt RC's should not count for 7 shifts. There was quite some discussion on the latter, but we felt if I recall right that awarding that with 7 shifts was too easy and many RCs were directly integrated with the experiment so should also do shifts. But my memory may be wrong and others can correct me.
Hopefully my memory is correct though that Dave made notes.
Best regards, Rolf

Subject: [Rsidis-mgmt] Shift requirements and related questions
Dear R_SIDIS and Nuc_R spokespersons,
I was wondering if we have thought about the following questions, and better yet, have answers:
1. What are the number of shifts required to be on one or both experiment publications?
2. How many shifts does one week of RC duties count as? Would they count as 7 shifts or would they be sufficient to be on both publications?
3. Do owl shifts count as 1.5 or 2 x regular shift?
Some collaborators, who are RCs for this run group, have reached out to me as they want to tailor their international travel accordingly.
Best,
Arun
