Hi Anusha,
Very neat. I have one suggestion: it could be that the earlier Whit's
calibration was not being properly included in the elastics analysis,
like what was happening at the beginning with the new one. Could you
check that, to see if Whit's "intermediate" calibration was any better
than Hovhannes original one? It would be interesting to see how the
calibration improvements progressed.
Also, I think your E diff axis units are GeV, right? So is the SIMC ~32
MeV offset (mean of your fit) the proton energy loss that Mark
mentioned? Or did you run SIMC with proton ionization loss on? I'm
asking because the new calibration offset could then be just ~46 MeV (78
- 32).
