Hello all,
I apologize for spamming the entire SBS mailing list with this message. If this message doesn’t apply to you, please disregard. In preparation for the collaboration meeting, we are asking each subsystem contact person to assemble a list of high-level tasks and milestones toward readiness of their subsystem for the first experiment in which it is required (and any subsequent experiments), and then each contact person (or their delegate), will make a short presentation of no more than 5 minutes/3-4 slides during the morning session of the first day (9:45-10:30), with a particular emphasis on potential areas of need that would benefit from the attention and efforts of new collaborators. The presentation can be brief and informal, but should address:
1) The purpose of your subsystem
2) Which experiment(s) require your subsystem.
3) The high-level remaining tasks and milestones toward readiness of your subsystem for beam
4) The estimated man-weeks (or other appropriate units) and/or other resources required to complete each task, and any deficiencies in existing resources to complete the preparations of your subsystem.
5) Any specialized skill or knowledge requirements to complete said task (beyond those possessed by a typical nuclear physics Ph.D. and/or graduate student).
6) Any areas of need that would benefit from the involvement/attention/expertise/efforts/resources of new collaborators.
The format of the session will be as follows: we will first hear from all subsystem contact people or their delegates who prepare a presentation in this session, and use any remaining time for open, informal discussion (possibly spilling over into the coffee break).
I would to collect all contributions for this session no later than COB Monday, July 13, so that the session can run smoothly. Thanks in advance for your contributions!
Best regards,
Andrew (SBS CC Chair)
