Dear Collaborators:

The GEp-V Spokespersons are calling for shift takers for the upcoming
SBS experimental run from February-July of 2025. You need to read this
completely before signing-up for shifts. The schedule is not firm.
First beam for GEp-V is projected to start on or after February 14th and
continue until 'sometime' in July. Even though the schedule is not firm,
the Spokespersons wish to get the schedule out and available for the
period of time of greatest confidence. Therefore, the schedule reflects
sign ups starting February 27th and ending owl shift July 2nd. There is
chance beam will be available before February 27th in which case those
days will be made available once the schedule is firm. Should the firm
schedule change the end date from July 2nd, then adjustments will be
made to the end of the schedule. It is strongly recommended that
collaborators traveling from greater distances on tight schedules to
sign up as soon as possible AND that they choose dates away from
February 27th and July 2nd by at least a week. Those local to the area
or those that can switch schedules on short notice should fill in those
two particular weeks.

To sign up for shifts, proceed to this web address and login to your
Jlab account.

Below are the links to the SRL training page and the building access
page. You must check on your training, site access, and all other
necessary items BEFORE coming to JLab. Something might expire in May
for your June shifts so check.

Do not neglect target training if you are not currently Hall A/C
cryotarget certified. If you were certified previously, your information
will be brought forward soon. You can still sign up it will just show
missing training.

I have also included the GMn, GEn, and GEp shift policy. This is also
posted on the main shift schedule page as usual.

Kind regards,
Will Tireman, Shift Schedule page contact

Collaboration policy for inclusion on papers is as follows.

Shift Policy Update: As of 8-March-2023, the shift policy has been
updated to give more flexibility to a wider group of shift workers. The
full changes can be read at this link: New Shift Policy. Here are the
short notes.
1) The current shift requirements for GMn, GEn and GEp are 10, 15 and 15
shifts, respectively, for inclusion on a paper for each
experiment.
2) The new policy permits fulfilling the shift requirement for a
particular (primary) SBS experiment (GMn, GEn-II, GEp-V) by combining
shifts taken on ANY of the SBS experiments.
3) A minimum of 3 shifts is still required on the actual experiment on
which the collaborator seeks authorship.
4) For those wanting to gain authorship on both GEn and GEp, a
combination totaling 25 shifts is needed. This is a reduction from the
15 + 15 = 30 from the #1 requirement above as long as the individual
meets the #3 requirement as well.

The usual weighting of shifts will be used. Day and swing shifts will
be weighted by 1x and owl shifts will receive a weighting of 1.5x.

To sign up for shifts, proceed to this web address and login to your
Jlab account.

All shift takers must review the training requirements posted on the run
schedule page. All collaborators signing up for target operator shifts
will need to complete cryogenic target operator training before their
first shift which requires an in-person practical. You will be able to
sign up for TO shifts but it will display "Incomplete L, P" next to your
name.

All shift takers must review their JLab training and site access well in
advance of their first shift. Remember that all Users must have a
current JLab visit approval on file in order to take shifts and have a
valid User badge. See links below!
