<p class="MsoNormal">Here is a summary of the Hall A status as of now. The following shifts are cancelled:

<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Wednesday swing, Thursday owl</li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Thursday day: TO only (Our current plan is to proceed with condensing the target tomorrow, Thursday day). Shift Leader shift is cancelled for Thursday day.
</li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Thursday swing: TO required, SL on standby.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The status of shifts beyond Thursday swing will be updated tomorrow, but it is safe to assume that TO shifts will be required going forward starting tomorrow day shift.
</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The BigBite and SBS magnets and detectors are now moved and surveyed in place at SBS-7 kinematics (Q2 = 10 GeV^2), requiring 4-pass beam. Tomorrow the priority activity in the Hall will be the required magnet tests to be performed by Jack,
and all other necessary work required before closing up the Hall for beam delivery.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Depending on the progress of the magnet work tomorrow and the status of the run certificate by the time the magnet tests and other necessary tasks in Hall A are completed, the GEM team will work with Jessie to replace the J2 GEM layer in
BigBite with the new U/V strip layer that has now been tested with cosmic rays and has been flushed with pre-mixed Argon/CO2. The GEM experts have roughly estimated that this operation would require about 3-4 hours total.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">To set up for 4-pass beam delivery to Hall A, someone from MCC will need to access Hall A to re-install the beam diffuser plates upstream of the dump that were retracted during 1-pass and 2-pass running. Depending on the Hall status tomorrow
morning/afternoon, it could make sense for this to happen tomorrow while we are still in restricted access. The setup for 4-pass beam will be invasive to the other halls and still requires higher-level approval, however it has been clearly communicated to
the PD and to MCC that Hall A is presently configured for 4-pass beam and that is what we require.
</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">When beam is restored at 4-pass, we will be limited to no more than 25 uA, unpolarized. Assuming we receive the run certificate and the hall is closed tomorrow, beam restoration could happen on Thursday swing in the best-case scenario,
but realistically it might be delayed to Friday morning. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The situation is evolving rapidly and we are working toward resumption of beam into Hall A, so stay tuned for tomorrow’s update!
