Dear Colleagues,
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I suspect you will get tired of these emails but…..we are very, very short of shift workers for the upcoming GEn run in 11 days. The magnitude of the problem is different than in previous runs where we had occasional unfilled shifts and could usually
find someone to cover. We cannot run any shift where there are not two workers. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>In the first week of this run, we have 16/40 unfilled person-shifts which gives 14 canceled shifts and a loss of 400M triggers! The rest of the 8 week run is also only 50% filled resulting in a total loss of 3G triggers. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><b>Please! Sign up for shifts. Ask your colleagues. We will target train as needed. Options:</b></div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>1) Students and collaborators who haven’t worked on SBS before can get their name on the GEn and A_LL papers with 15 shifts or, 10 owl shifts.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>2) If you want to have your name on these papers and GEp-V, you can take a minimum of 3 shifts on one and the balance on the other.</div>
<div><u><br>
</u></div>
<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"></span>3) <u>Graduate students:</u> It is time to fill up as many shifts as you can. Thesis Goal: Maximize your knowledge of the experiment, beam, accelerator, data analysis, polarized targets, and
nucleon structure by digging in deeply.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div> </div>
<div>How is the charge distributed in the neutron? Is it different than the proton? Why? Inquiring minds need to know. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Finally, we have awesome snacks and can provide your snack of choice.</div>
