Hi Alex,
I think there must be some copy/paste errors on 'Sheet2'? Some detector
sections are identical and there are multiple VTP lines under the GEM
section, etc.
The 'Number', 'On-hand', 'Ordered', 'Installed', and 'Needed' columns
don't seem to consistently match up either. I would guess the formula
should be:
'Needed' = 'Number' - ('On-hand' + 'Ordered'),
but there are a number of lines where that doesn't seem to hold. For
example, under "BigBite Shower : FADC", 'Number'=12, 1 is On-Hand,
6 are Ordered, 0 Installed, but 9 are listed as Needed. I can't quite
make sense of it.
On the 'Jan 2021' worksheet I count 31 F250s, but only 22 of them have
'HALLA' in the label. You noted in the email that the remaining 9 don't
belong to us. But, I assume they are effectively on 'permanent loan'
and aren't going away, correct?
On worksheet 'Sheet2', I count roughly 44 FADCs needed. I'm ignoring
the CDET section, and the v792 instrumented channels in that count.
If the CDET is to be instrumented, then I guess the total is closer
to 63 FADC modules?
So, subtracting the 31 'in-hand' units, do we need to locate 13 F250s
(CDET excluded), or 32? Plus a few spares too, I guess?
Based on discussions about the auxiliary FADC channels needed during
the last couple SBS DAQ meetings, I'm guessing a few more FADC modules
may get added to the list as things settle out.
(Note that I am excluding the GEN/RP PMT readout from the above count.
All of that hardware is in-hand (except for the 4 FADCs on loan to the
TEDF setup).)
One of the reasons I am concerned about this is that any deficit likely
must come out of the units promised to the future NPS setup. IF those
units are available at the present time (which is not 100% clear to me),
then I'm sure some horse-trading can happen. But, money/budget and
lead-times could be an issue since anything transferred to Hall A should
likely stay there for the duration of the SBS program. I'd like to get
this figured out soon..
