PS: I forgot maybe the most important:
3) make sure the GEM HVs are turned off before 8am.

also putting grinch people in CC since they wanted to test their detector
and also BBcal people since I assume we will have to turn BBCal on for
trigger.

PPS: slack/email/text me if you have questions

Dear all,

I got a positive answer from Jessie that you will be able to switch on the
GEMs tomorrow evening for tests. See his answer to my message below.
Again, please do what you did on Saturday i.e.:
1) Wait for my green light to turn the GEMs on;
2) halog when you turn the GEMs ON, and halog when you turn the GEMs off.

Best,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Yes, turning on the HV tomorrow evening should work. I will give you a
call once we are done working. If you haven't heard from me by 4pm
tomorrow, please give me a call because I will be in the MOLLER review and
might forget to call you.

Also, can you ask the GEM folks to make a log entry when they are turning
the GEMs on and when they have turned them off? This will make it easy for
me to understand the state of the GEMs HV when I am reading the HALOG in
the morning before beginning work.

Subject: schedule of overnight GEMs test

Hi Jessie,

The GEM people wanted to know if they could switch on their HV at least
for one night during the week to conduct some tests. It will probably not
be tonight (they have some overhead time to flush Ar-CO2 instead of N2),
but I wondered if that could happen tomorrow evening for instance.

So perhaps we could do the following:
1) we first agree to do it e.g. tomorrow evening after you and your team
is done working in the hall
2) When tomorrow evening you and your team are done working in the hall
for the day, you call me, so I can call the GEM experts so they can get
started on the work they want to do.
3) we make sure that by the time you go back to the hall the day after,
the HVs are turned off so you and your team can resume work in the hall.

If tomorrow evening/night cannot work for a reason or another, please let
me know what other day can be good.

Also, I am very aware that the amount of work in the hall is enormous, but
we want to get a sense of how likely it is that you will be able to change
the J2 GEM layer

Best,
Eric
