[Sbs_gems] GEM meeting tomorrow cancelled for UV layer swap in Hall

Dear all,

From today’s RC meeting, we plan to do the UV layer swap tomorrow. Therefore, I am cancelling tomorrow’s GEM meeting. If you have updates and would like to share, please feel free to email them to the mailing list if it cannot wait until next week. If for some reason this swap plan does not work out tomorrow morning, I’ll let you know as early as possible and we can try to meet (will let you know if any change by 9am).

The plan will be:

  1.  Beam is taken away and hall is swept for restricted access.
  2.  Jessie does a load test on the crane.
  3.  Bring the UV layer to the Hall.
  4.  Install UV layer (according to our detailed plan)
  5.  Also install the resistor on the UV layer 2 (Mark Taylor has been notified to be on standby for the best window tomorrow). Might require moving other GEM layers.
  6.  Close up Hall, back to beam permit. Hopefully this happens around the start of swing.
  7.  Continue beam running.

As we are the priority and the only task planned for tomorrow, we will need as many of the GEM experts on site to be available to make this happen. We have already notified the experts on site in the Slack channel.
