Hi folks,
A new beam schedule has been released that has been updated to
accommodate the slow start to the SBS program in Hall A. (See attached.)
The upshot is that the GEn-RP (E12-17-004) has been officially postponed
until early 2023 (following the SBS Pol He3 program). So, we will
not be installing the GEn-RP detectors in late-Dec/early-January. They
will remain under test in the ESB and EEL/125 (where they are presently
staged).
*NOTE*
This does *not* mean that development of the SBS GEMs and GEN-RP
polarimeter is paused for a year. The plan is to install all of these
detectors in Hall A and run them parasitically with beam, using the full
production readout system, during the Pol He3 program. This time will
be invaluable to work out the remaining issues in DAQ, VTP firmware, and
GEM operation so we can really hit the ground running after the
cryotarget system is reinstalled.
I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
All the best,
-- Brad
