Hi Gordon, Bogdan, Todd, and other folks

Attached are the priority tasks for the SBS GEMs, this was compiled by Holly and Anu.

I will note that the first task, related to the SBS GEM latency, is almost resolved. This was collected by Anu and is a great step in the right direction for the SBS GEMs.

A task that is not on there, but will need to be completed prior to the second task, for SBS GEMs, is to resolve the LV and DAQ problems with the 2 INFN GEM layers. Currently these 2 INFN GEMs are excluded entirely. I hope to add this to the task list soon.

INFN LV Task:
Priority: Next available opportunity, does not require main DAQ. Can be completed in a standalone DAQ, that does not affect main DAQ at all.
Target: Any target, Hydrogen or Helium is desired
Plan:
Incrementally increase or decrease the LV set points to monitor the readback of the voltage and the current during beam-on and beam-off conditions. This can be done by monitoring normal beam trips. Goal is to find a stable running condition, i.e. does not cause DAQ errors.

I acknowledge that taking production data for GEN is the highest priority. I would also like to emphasize that some of these tasks are independent of the GEN data taking (as long as beam is available) or if the GEMs are stable, they should not impede GEN data taking. I look forward to thoughts and discussion on the matter of SBS GEM tasks and ideally fitting them into some point of the GEN run.

Best,
Zeke Wertz
