Hello all:
Tomorrow (Tuesday April 27) at 10:30 Eastern Time I was going to provide an
introduction to sbs-offline and cover the basics of adding a non-tracking
detector to SBS-offline. This meeting was initially directed at just
those people who I knew were writing code for the analyzer, but in the case
that someone else finds it useful, I am opening it up to everyone on the
software mailing list.
The idea would be that I would spend 30 minutes going over:
1) Setting up a replay script that you can use to test the detector classes.
2) Going over what low-level features already exist on SBS-offline via the
GenericDetector class.
3) Expanding GenericDetector to match the needs of your detector:
a) How to add new DB variables
b) Defining new output variables
c) Where to implement the higher-level detector-specific
reconstruction.
d) Adding any new classes to the cmake builder and ROOT dictionaries.
Then I can stick around for anyone while if anyone wants help compiling or
debugging some of their issues. The idea is to help get all the
non-tracking detectors integrated with SBS-offline. Keep in mind that
SBS-offline is not a finished product, and so changes to the core may
happen based on suggestions and contributions from all.
