Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU weekly update




This week PPU held change control board meetings for two areas with increased costs: the beam power limiting system and for components for the recently added spare cryomodule.  In the superconducting RF area, the tanked cavity number 5 was plasma processed after exhibiting early onset field emission and is ready for another high-power test at SNS. At JLab, another tanked cavity passed testing, providing the required 4 cavities for cryomodule string 3. In the RF area high power tests are being readied for convertor modulator tanks at the vendor. In the ring area the telescope pyrometer to measure foil temperature is set for shipping to SNS this week. Work continues in the klystron gallery with more cable tray installation, drying of the de-ionized water system piping, and adding cooling jumpers for the klystrons.
