Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU weekly update


This week PPU communicated the strategy for readiness reviews and safety document updates to the DOE site office. These plans were favorably received. In the superconducting RF area the sixth cavity string was accepted (7 are needed for installation at SNS + 1 spare). In the RF area we began high power testing the first new RF circulator, prior to installation. In the ring area we are conducting multi-month tests for the upgrade to the extraction kicker power supplies with both a nominal plan and a backup plan, with both proceeding OK so far. Installation in the klystron gallery is ongoing with the focus on cabling to the installed racks.
