Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU weekly update


This week the PPU project controls is finalizing a few preparations for the upcoming DOE status review, based on last week’s director’s review. Also, several project change requests were processed. In the Superconducting RF area, the 4th cryomodule (of 8 total) was received from our partner JLab at SNS. In the RF area the first transmitter rack was energized in the klystron gallery and is undergoing shakeout tests. In the Ring area, at the partner FNAL the first coil winding package was epoxy impregnated and is now curing. In the target area, the ortho-para catalyst convertor material was loaded into the canister at the vendor. Installation work is progressing with cabling in the tunnel. Also cooling systems are being tested with the initial klystron setups in the klystron gallery.
