Subject: [EXTERNAL] PU weekly update


Lead PPU team members have been in contact with the upcoming DOE review team counter parts this week, in preliminary discussion to prepare for the Independent Project Review next week. Also this week the PPU project controls team conducted Control Account Manager training. In the superconducting RF area, the fourth cryomodule from JLab was high power tested and had stellar performance with all 4 cavities constrained only by administrative limits.  In the RF area the initial energized integrated testing of the complete high power RF system recently installed in the klystron gallery began, an important step towards preparing these systems for use in November. In the Ring area this first of three new injection region magnet fabrication (coil package + steel core) was completed, and the magnet is expected to proceed to testing in a week or two. In the target area the mercury overflow tank assembly fabrication is moving after an issue was resolved regarding a code-stamped pressure vessel component. The tank is expected to arrive in November, well in advance of the planned installation in the long outage next fall. Cabling activity is proceeding in the linac tunnel and the klystron gallery.
