This week in the PPU superconducting RF area, cryomodule 5 was readied for a cold test at JLab prior to shipment to SNS. Also, JLab staff visited the vendor fabricating cryomodule end cans. In the RF area progress was made on equipment to be used in the next power ramp-up phase: testing of the RF transmitter 28  began, a circuit board was replaced in the 13 kV high voltage equipment, and equipment interfaces to the accelerator timing system were added. In the ring area, the first new vacuum chamber for the injection region upgrade passed a leak check at the vendor, and the first 2 coil windings for the injection dump dipole magnet were grit blasted in preparation for insulation wrapping at FNAL. In the target area a vendor visit was made for the molecular sieve equipment for upgrades to the off gas treatment. Equipment installation work continues in the klystron gallery, with a highlight being plumbing in new equipment to the main water supply resulting in a noticeable reduction in the background noise level. Also new LED lighting was powered on resulting in a much brighter work environment.
