Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU weekly progress


PPU progress this week includes detailing planning for the next outage period starting in March. In the superconducting RF area the final string of cavities is being assembled for the last cryomodule at JLab. In the RF area the final circulators were received at SNS. Also, the RF test facility was re-configured to better power single PPU klystrons for high voltage conditioning. In the Ring area the last equipment needed for final calibration of the beam power limiting system was received. In the target area new weld techniques for the 2 MW target nose have been demonstrated and will be adopted in future fabrications. In the klystron gallery the tanks containing the klystrons, the high voltage modulator and the RF transmitter equipment for the power ramp-up phase 2 are now in place.
