Among others, I just realized I did not report/document on the discussion I had with the U. Iowa group's engineer. This has been added to the minutes. For now, I suggest that ****our Chinese collaborators do not assemble any module***. I will work with this engineer on getting the best design possible. Besides "rod screwed to end plates" (COMPASS), "side steel tapes welded to steel end plates" (LHCb), and "side tapes screwed to end plates" (ALICE), he suggested using a carbon fiber tube to encase the module for support. I will follow up with him. 

The ALICE module used "bond paper" instead of Tyvek (I previously did not see this in their NIM paper). I have asked WSU for the exact material. But bond paper does sound a little better than Tyvek or Al. mylar in terns of friction, and may have better radiation hardness than Tyvek.
