[Solid_ec] Friday meeting 10 AM

Hello,
as I mentioned in the previous message I would like to have a conference
call on Friday 7 th of June to discuss about calorimeter progress and about
DAQ.
If not many people can attend we will do another meeting on Tuesday morning.

Things I would like to discuss :
Calorimeter :
-rates and occupancy in detector
-optimization of shielding

Simulation
-difference Seamus and Zhiwen bacgkround from simulation
-implementation of calorimeter and cernkov in GEMC
-Man power organisation : I have Todd's student for a few months so I was
thinking getting him to help on trigger simulation



I agree with Paul that if there are obvious source of background and we can
mitigate them we should do that, it seems we can handle the worse case but
it can get a bit costly. On the other hand the Electronics group  proposed
to me a solution to only readout a given set of channels from the FADC. So
I will scale down the price and increase the amount of FTE from electronics
group needed.
I guess it is worth investing in development and I will change my
philosophy for the document and include more of what we want than what we
can do with the current electronics and a couple of years of manpower from
electronics group is not that expensive compared to price of equipment
needed if we use the electronic as it is now.
