Hi Xiaochao,

Here are my comments:
Page#2 use the new configuration plots provided here:
 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BznYzLTtupLgUVpUVXV1S2RxY28&authuser=0
 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BznYzLTtupLgVG9RallySm52X3c&authuser=0

Page#3 "CC" -> "LGCC"

Page#30 Swap the position of two plots since you always talks LA.. first then FA... There are couple of other places that you sometimes talk FA first or LA first. Not important but just a reminder.

Page#34 "0deg" ->"0 deg", missing the graphic for the light guide. I only see the up-arrows.

Page#36/37, I assume you are still waiting for the "MIP spectrum" plots so you leave the empty space with texts.

Best Regards

Dear Xiaochao,

Thank you for putting together the nice EC talk. A few comments as following for your consideration:

Page 5: 0.12mm gap. We probably use reflective paper in that gap, right? So it maybe better to say 0.12mm reflective paper.
Page 9: It could be useful to point out the legend is for particle species at the front surface of the calorimeter system (a common confusion is the particle in the shower).
Page 9: we could reminder reader again the limit of scintillator and fiber's radiation hardness, so they know how this plot can be used to estimate lifetime.
Page 10: do we have any talk before you to explain what is "Photon Blocker"? Otherwise, we might want to make a drawing to explain it here.
Page 14: it would be good to shower our 100-100 fiber connector design here too.
Page 15: we could also mention it is a nice feature to run all fiber to a PMT box outside the detector, which is easy for maintenance.
Page 22: Are we using different trigger threshold for different radius in SIDIS forward region. If we should point out, so people would understand why we need so many trigger turn-on curves.
Page 27, we could emphasize on the vertical scale here, which start with 97% efficient minimal.
Page 20-21: we probably want to point out we consider such performance as "sufficient", to give a take away message.
Page 34: are we missing a figure on the right bottom?
Page 40: "To Do" sounds like an internal talk. To meet the charge for the review, shall we say the plan for prototyping and design study here?

Cheers

Jin

Subject: draft talk for EC

Dear All:

I have posted the first draft of EC talk here:

https://userweb.jlab.org/~xiaochao/talk/SoLID_EC_Feb2015.pdf

Please send me comments. For the first draft please focus on:
- look for mistakes, typos
- look for slides that should not be shown (for example budget)
- look for slides that should be shown but are not there.

Thanks,

Xiaochao
