[Solid_ec] EIC R&D proposal on EMCal

Dear All:

Attached please find the 2nd draft of the Ecal EIC detector R&D. The main focus now is to perform a preliminary simulation of EIC's shashlyk Ecal needs, and to gain experience in testing scintillator parts made from both traditional methods and 3D-printing. The latter should provide the first step towards shashlyk module construction and should in principle be independent of whether 3D-printed scintillators works. However, I did put some emphasis in the 3D printing parts to make sure this R&D has potentially innovative components.

Comments are welcome.  We will also discuss this briefly at tomorrow's EC meeting.
