Dear Shouyang,
I won't be able to attend the meeting tomorrow so I quickly looked at
your slides
and it looks like great progress were made with the apv25 electronics. I
have a few suggestions that could help.
- From the experience we had with this system at UVa I would suggest
that you check the connection between the APV25-FE and flexible
Panasonic-to-ZIF adapter.
A bad connection of the ZIF to the FE card (which can happen very
easily) would lead to the spikes that you see in the bad event that
you referred too in your slides. It does not necessarily mean a problem
with the card.
- And to make things even easier, you could try to get from Evaristo or
Paolo the newly produced APV25-FE cards with
Panasonic connectors instead of ZIF connectors so you won't need the
flex adapter to connect to the chamber.
A few prototypes of these cards had been produced earlier this year by
Paolo Musico to get rid of the flex-adapter that is source of a lot of
noise and
bad connection problems. This way in your future tests and commissioning
of the APV25-MPD electronics you would not have to worry abut bad
connection.
Hope that helps
Kondo
