Per our conversation a few minutes ago,

Feature Request of current saver -- disable user ability to highlight/dehighlight PVs via mouse-clicks. The highlighting of differences can remain, however if it must go as well in order to accommodate the removal of user-highlighting/dehighlighting no highlighting at all ever by user or program is fine.

Feature Request of next generation saver -- the ability for the user to highlight certain PVs on a list via mouse click and only download those PVs when hitting download, leaving the unhighlighted PVs unchanged after the download.
