[Tdis] Minutes of the January, 4th, 2022 meeting

Dear TDIS-enthusiasts:

The minutes of the January, 4th, 2022 meeting:

Present:
Ed, Arun, Dipangkar, Salina, Shujie, Stephen, Carlos.

Main Agenda:

  *   purchase of chips/components planned: Ed was compiling number needed in TDIS, SOLID and MOLLER and will have the numbers in the next meeting
  *   Doodle new calendar results: at the moment of the meeting, only 12 collaborators have voted. Attached is the updated chart of the poll (13 collaborators). It was decided:
     *   postpone the decision to the next week (BEFORE the next meeting) and call to vote regularly.
     *   choose time slots when Thia can participate.

  *   Status of the Conditional Release document: no major changes in the document. It was reminded to fill the corresponding parts. Some of the topics: Salina (prototype), Dipangkar (target cell), Ed (electronics), Stephen (chain finder).

Other Points:

  *   Dipangkar asked about the present status/experience of SBS face to our project. Arun explained the present experience and remark that somehow the bottleneck of the DAQ rates are the GEMs used in SBS. Also talked about the status of the GRINCH and the tests carried out on it.
  *   Stephen suggested to make use of a code used in Hall D to estimate single rates and compare with the EPC code used now. Arun contacted Marc Dalton about it and Carlos will take care to make use of it and compare the data.
  *   Shujie asked about the status of the track reconstruction. Carlos explained that there are two chain finder algorithms on the table and explained in the Conditional Release Document. Shujie offered to make use of her experience in EIC with track reconstruction making use of the Kalman Filter.
