Dear all,

Just a reminder that we have a special theory seminar THIS AFTERNOON
(Weds, Dec 8), 2pm-5pm (*NOTE EXTENDED TIME*) in L104. Details below.

-----
Special Theory Seminar
Wednesday, Dec 8
2-5pm *NOTE EXTENDED TIME*
Room L104

*Toward an Electron-Ion Collider: Physics, project status, future plans*

Alberto Accardi, Vadim Guzey, Alexei Prokudin, Christian Weiss

An electron-proton/ion collider (EIC) is widely being discussed as a
future facility for QCD-based nuclear physics in the U.S. and worldwide
and represents an interesting option for JLab beyond the 12 GeV Upgrade.
We attempt to give a concise summary of the envisaged physics program
and the status and future plans in this project. In particular, we
report on the results of the recent 10-week INT program devoted to EIC
physics. This special seminar is intended to bring our colleagues up to
date on the recent developments in the EIC project and the involvement
of JLab Theory, in order to enable wider discussion of these topics.

Christian Weiss (20 + 10) Overview of EIC physics and project status
Vadim Guzey (20 + 10) Nucleon 3D imaging and QCD structure of nuclei
[Break] (15)
Alexei Prokudin (20 + 10) Quark/gluon orbital motion and nucleon spin
Alberto Accardi (20 + 10) High-energy QCD and hadronization
