Dear all,

A reminder that Alexei is giving the Cake Seminar this afternoon (Feb
10th) at 3pm in L104:

-----

Wednesday February 10th
3pm
L104

*TMD phenomenology: from HERMES and COMPASS to JLAB and EIC*

Alexei Prokudin (JLab)

I will discuss the spin structure of the proton in terms of Transverse
Momentum Dependent (TMD) distributions. At leading twist there are 8
transverse momentum dependent distribution functions that describe the
structure of the polarised spin-1/2 hadron. Intrinsic transverse motion
of quarks is important for understanding both polarised and unpolarised
Semi Inclusive Deep Inelastic Scattering (SIDIS) data. I will present
recent experimental data from HERMES and COMPASS collaborations and
extraction of transversity, Boer-Mulders, Collins, and Sivers functions
and comparison to models. Future JLab and EIC measurements will be
discussed.
