Dear all,

As well as the theory seminar on Monday (March 15, 1pm, L104), we have a
cake seminar on Wednesday (March 17, 3pm, L104). Details below:

-----
Monday, March 15th
1pm (coffee at 12:45pm)
Room L104

*Coupled channel effects in meson photo and electroproduction at high
energy*

Jean-Marc Laget
JLab

In the energy range accessible at JLab6 and JLab12, the coupling to the
vector meson production channels provides us with a natural explanation
of two long standing problems: i) the magnitude of the cross section of
charged pion photoproduction near 90 degrees and its scaling behavior
(s^-7), ii) the strong cross section of the neutral pion
electroproduction at large Q^2 recently measured at JLab. I will present
this approach which relates the amplitudes of several reactions recently
determined at JLab.

Wednesday, March 17th
3pm
Room L104

*Exotic and excited-state radiative transitions in charmonium from
lattice QCD*

Christopher Thomas
JLab

I will discuss recent calculations of meson radiative transition form
factors in lattice QCD. Results in the charmonium region, involving
excited charmonium states, states of high spin and exotics, will be
presented and I will highlight interesting results involving an exotic
1-+ and a vector-hybrid candidate. I concentrate on the phenomenology
of the results, comparing with experimental data and with models. To
conclude I give comments on future prospects, including application to
light mesons.
