Dear all,

We have a theory seminar at 1pm on Monday (Oct 11th) in L104. Details
below. (No cake seminar this coming Wednesday, Oct 13th, because of the
HiX2010 Workshop.)

A complete list of upcoming theory seminars and talks from previous
seminars are available from:

*Bottom hadron spectroscopy from lattice QCD*

Stefan Meinel
College of William & Mary

Lattice studies of hadrons containing b quarks are important for several
reasons. In addition to the calculation of matrix elements needed for
flavor physics, lattice QCD can predict masses of b hadrons and solve
puzzles in spectroscopy such as those concerning the recently discovered
Omega_b and eta_b. Including b quarks in lattice QCD calculations
requires special techniques because the lattice spacing presently cannot
be chosen fine enough to resolve their Compton wavelength. In this talk
I will give an introduction to lattice methods for heavy quarks,
focusing on nonrelativistic QCD. I will then present recent results for
the spectroscopy of heavy hadrons, including precise calculations of the
bottomonium spectrum and the mass of the triply-bottom baryon Omega_bbb.
