Dear all,

We have two seminars next week:
* Monday (1pm, Oct 18th): Sergey Kulagin (INR, Moscow)
* Wednesday (2pm, Oct 20th) cake seminar: Rocco Schiavilla
Titles, abstracts and more details below.

A complete list of upcoming theory seminars and talks from previous
seminars are available from:

Monday, Oct 18th
1pm (coffee at 12:45)
Room L104

*Recent progress in nuclear deep-inelastic scattering*

Sergey Kulagin
INR, Moscow

I will give a summary of major experimental observations on nuclear
effects in DIS from earlier measurements at CERN and SLAC and recent
measurements in low-Q^2 region from JLab. I will then briefly review
an approach which takes into account a number of different nuclear
effects including Fermi motion and nuclear binding, nuclear shadowing,
nuclear pion field and off-shell correction to bound nucleon structure
functions. Then I will discuss application of the model in analysis of
recent data on the EMC effect for light nuclei from JLab.

Cake Seminar
Wednesday, Oct 20th
2pm
Room L104

*Low-energy electroweak processes in few-nucleon systems*

Rocco Schiavilla
Old Dominion University and JLab

Radiative and weak capture processes in A=2-4 nuclei
provide sensitive tests for models of nuclear interactions
and electroweak currents. A review is given of current
efforts in this field.

Cake Sponsor: Ian Balitsky
