Using effective Field Theory to Sum Large Logarithms in Invariant Mass and Rapidity: The Obvious and the Hidden
In the past couple of years there have been developments in soft collinear effective theory (SCET) that allow
for the regulation of rapidity and ultra violet divergences, and the summation of the associated logarithms in
rapidity and invariant mass respectively in a gauge invariant way. In this talk I will discuss two processes to
which these techniques have been applied: transverse momentum dependent distributions-the obvious,
and DIS at threshold-the hidden.
