Dear all,
This is a reminder of tomorrow's seminar:
Theory Seminar:
Monday, October 15th, 1PM, Room L102
Maxim Mai (GWU), "3 hadrons in (in-) finite volume"
Many contemporary puzzles of hadron physics are related to
systems with three hadrons, and different approaches exist to this end.
In my talk, I will show how a fully relativistic unitary 3-body scattering amplitude
can be derived, when parameterizing the 2-body sub-channel amplitudes by a
tower of isobars.
The only ab-initio access to the properties of strongly interacting systems are
provided by the virtues of Lattice QCD. The relation between the finite-volume
spectra obtained in such calculations and infinite-volume ones is called quantization condition.
I will show in the second part of my talk how a relativistic 3-body quantization condition
can be derived from the above 3-body scattering amplitude.
I will conclude by demonstrating the recent application of the latter to the finite-volume
spectrum of pi-pi-pi system with maximal isospin from the NPLQCD collaboration.
