Ismail Zahed (Stony Brook), ``Heavy baryons and exotics from holographic QCD''

Abstract:
I will present a novel holographic formulation of heavy baryons that has manifest chiral and heavy quark symmetry.
I will use it to show that heavy baryons and their exotics with explicit and hidden charm and bottom, emerge as bound states of a low-lying heavy meson multiplet and a flavor instanton in bulk. I will confirm the existence of two low-lying charmed pentaquark states and new ones. I will also show that tetraquark states emerge as holographic molecules, by binding the same  heavy meson multiplet to a sphaleron path instead.  Remarkably, this description provides a realisation of a  “quark-diquark ” correspondence  whereby  a doubly heavy tetraquark as a boson is geometrically deformed to a heavy baryon as a fermion. This construction predicts  bound  tetraquark states with bottom and charm as Efimov states, a  likely first manifestation of the Efimov mechanism in  hadronic spectroscopy.
