Theory seminar
Monday July 20, 1:00 PM
Krzysztof Cichy (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland), "Partonic structure of the nucleon from Lattice QCD''

Abstract:
In this talk, we will present the recent directions in lattice QCD computations of partonic functions by the Extended Twisted Mass Collaboration. We are using the novel quasi- and pseudo-distribution approaches that allow one to access the full x-dependence of partonic functions by generalizing their light-cone definitions into Euclidean spacetime. This permits their lattice calculation and after a suitable non-perturbative renormalization and a matching procedure, the desired light-cone distributions can be obtained. We will discuss our on-going projects of computing the twist-2 parton distribution functions (PDFs) and generalized parton distributions (GPDs), as well as our pioneering direction of accessing twist-3 PDFs. The encouraging results present a major success for the emerging field of direct calculations of the x-dependence of partonic quantities using lattice QCD and its future prospects will also be shortly discussed.

Thank you.
