Dear all,

We hope you have all had a good summer so far!

We will restart our seminar series next Monday, August 30 at *9:00 AM*.
Shuntaro Sakai will give a theory seminar on https://bluejeans.com/801786278
<https://www.google.com/url?q=https://bluejeans.com/801786278/5878?src%3DcalendarLink&sa=D&source=calendar&usd=2&usg=AOvVaw25sgt91GOrFua-h6qKqY9J>,
see below for details.

*Please welcome our new theory seminar organizers, Patrick Barry and Colin
Egerer!*

*Theory seminar*
Monday, August 30, *9:00 AM*

*Shuntaro Sakai* (Osaka University) will talk about "Extraction of ND
scattering lengths from the Lambda_b --> pi^- p D^0 decay and properties of
the Sigma_c(2800)^+".

*Abstract:*
In this talk, we introduce our recent work on the analysis of the p D^0
invariant-mass distribution in the Lambda_b --> pi^- p D^0 decay to extract
the S-wave ND scattering length with particular attention to the cusplike
structure at the n D^+ threshold.
The analysis is based on a coupled-channel nonrelativistic effective field
theory.
It is found that the isovector ND scattering length is largely enhanced by
the pole near the ND threshold which can be associated with Sigma_c(2800)^+.
Our results suggest the spin and parity of this Sigma_c resonance is
J^P=1/2^- which can couple to the S-wave ND channel.
This talk is based on Phys. Lett. B 808 (2020) 135623
<https://arxiv.org/abs/2004.09824> by Shuntaro Sakai, Feng-Kun Guo, and
Bastian Kubis.
