*Theory seminar*
Monday, March 22nd, *9:00 AM*

*Chiara Bissolotti* (University of Pavia) will talk about "Unpolarized
Transverse Momentum Distributions and EIC predictions".

*Abstract:*

Transverse Momentum Distributions (TMDs) are three-dimensional maps of
hadrons in momentum space and generalize the well-known concept of
collinear Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs). TMDs are crucial in
understanding the 3D spin and momentum structure of the nucleon and other
hadrons, and information on their functional form can be obtained, for
example, from Drell-Yan, Semi-Inclusive Deep Inelastic Scattering (SIDIS)
and $e^+ e^-$ annihilation.

In this talk I will discuss the state-of-the art status of unpolarized TMD
extractions, focusing on the results obtained by the Pavia group.

The Electron-Ion Collider foreseen luminosity, coupled with its energy
variability and reach, will allow unprecedented three-dimensional imaging
of hadrons. TMDs at the EIC will be accessed mainly through Semi-Inclusive
DIS, and in this talk I will present preliminary results on the impact that
EIC data will have on TMD extractions.

We look forward to seeing you at the seminar!
Astrid, Christos, Filippo
