Hello All,
This coming Wednesday, December 7th, at 1 pm (EST), David Richards will give our final in-person cake seminar of the Fall term in CC L102.
Please see below for the details.
Cake Seminar
Wednesday, December 7th at 1:00 PM
David Richards (JLab)
will discuss "Lattice QCD and the Structure of the Pion"
Abstract:
The study of the pion plays an essential role in understanding QCD. In this talk, I begin by outlining that role, and the experimental program at Jefferson Lab and the future EIC directed at pion structure. The pion also represents a computationally efficient theatre in which to develop the methods for first-principles lattice calculations of hadron structure. I describe recent work at calculating the parton distribution functions of the pion, focusing on work by the HadStruc collaboration, and work to explore the pion form factor. I conclude with the prospects for future calculations.
Best,
Caroline, Colin, & Patrick
