Hello All,
Tomorrow, Monday, January 23rd, at 9:00 AM (EST), M. Padmanath will give our first (virtual) theory seminar of the new year.
Padmanath's seminar will be held virtually on our usual ZoomGov link:

Theory Seminar
Monday, January 23rd at 9:00 AM
M. Padmanath (Institute of Mathematical Sciences - Chennai)
will discuss "S-wave scattering of triply bottom baryons from lattice QCD"
Abstract:
I will present our recent lattice investigation of scattering of triply bottom
baryons in the S-wave. After giving a brief motivation for our study, I will discuss
our methodology and strategy in determining the ground state of dibaryon composed of two
$\Omega_{bbb}$ baryons. Following this, the details of and the results from the scattering
analysis in the $^1S_0$ channel will be presented. Our study indicates the existence of
a sub-threshold pole, which signifies an unambiguous evidence for a deeply bound
$\Omega_{bbb}-\Omega_{bbb}$ dibaryon. The binding energy of such a state as dictated by
this pole singularity is found to be -81($^{+14}_{-16}$) MeV. I quantify various
systematic uncertainties involved in this determination, including those related to
the excited state contamination and Coulomb repulsion between the bottom quarks.
Towards the end, I give a brief outline of our ongoing efforts in mapping the quark mass
dependence of the S-wave amplitude in triply flavored baryons scattering, focussing
the heavy quark mass regime.
See you tomorrow!
