Dear all,
Today, Wednesday, May 10th, at 1:00PM (EDT), we will have a cake seminar given by Ted Rogers of ODU and JLab in CEBAF Center room F224/225.
Please see below for the title and abstract.
Cake Seminar

Ted Rogers (ODU/JLab)
Will discuss “A hadron structure oriented (HSO) approach to TMD phenomenology”
Abstract:
I will summarize recently completed work on an updated and reorganized implementation of TMD factorization that places emphasis on the requirements necessary to consistently identify and extract nonperturbative transverse momentum dependence. The new treatment, which we call a "hadron structure oriented" (HSO) approach, maintains a clear partonic structure description of small transverse momentum while ensuring that all TMD pdfs and ffs consistently match their fixed order collinear factorization expressions at large transverse momentum. I will argue that the HSO approach significantly improves the internal consistency of TMD parametrizations. Additionally, the approach provides the framework needed to interpret the nonperturbative parts of TMD functions in terms of partonic structure. This includes an interpretation of the TMD parton distribution and fragmentation functions after they are integrated over transverse momentum. I will also explain the limitations of more traditional steps for implementing TMD factorization phenomenologically, particularly with respect to the interpretation and identification of universal nonperturbative parts.
See you later,
Patrick, Caroline, and Joe
