Dear all,

Tomorrow, at 1pm EDT, we will have a virtual seminar given by Anthony Grebe of Fermilab on the following Zoom link:

https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/1610378154?pwd=VTVnbURPNEkzdEYrMjlZSTlmQWpKZz09

In addition to our regular seminar, tomorrow, at 11AM EDT ,there will be a CNF seminar given by Peter Petreczky of Brookhaven National Lab in Cebaf Center L102.

See title and abstracts below.

Theory Seminar: Monday October 2nd, 1pm EDT (virtual)

Speaker: Anthony Grebe (FermiLab)

Title: Computing the Pion Light-Cone Distribution Amplitude Using the Heavy-Quark Operator Product Expansion

Abstract: The light-cone distribution amplitude (LCDA) of the pion carries information about the momentum distribution of its quarks, which is an important input to various experiments. The LCDA can be expanded in terms of its Mellin moments, which combined contain all information about the distribution amplitude. I will present our calculation of the second Mellin moment using the heavy-quark operator product expansion (HOPE) method, giving a result in good agreement with complementary methods. I will also discuss ongoing work to compute the more challenging fourth moment, as well as refinements to our second moment calculation.

Title: Lattice calculation of nucleon PDFs and GPDs using Large Momentum Effective Theory

Abstract:

Lattice QCD results on quark PDFs and GPDs of the nucleon obtained within the Large Momentum Effective Theory (LaMET) with NLO and NNLO matching will be presented. I will discuss how different versions of LaMET, such as the quasi-PDF approach and the short distance factorization or the pseudo-PDF approach complement each other. Results on un-polarized quark distributions and quark transversity distribution will be shown. In addition I will discuss calculations of the higher moments of unpolarized quark GPDs based on short distance factorization.

See you tomorrow.
Best regards,
Caroline, Joe & Zheng-Yang
