Dear all,

Today, at 1pm EDT, we will have a cake seminar given by Felipe Gama Ortega of William and Mary in room L102 in the Cebaf Center.

Please see below for the seminar information.

Speaker: Felipe Ortega Gama (William & Mary)

Title: Timelike pion form factor from lattice QCD

Abstract: Lattice QCD can provide first-principles structural information of resonant hadronic states. This type of calculations can also constrain Standard Model precision tests, like the muon g-2 or rare kaon decays. The finite volume nature of the lattice produces significant distortion to multi-hadronic observables, which have to be corrected with the Lellouch-Luescher (LL) factors. In this talk I will describe this technique when applied to the timelike form factor of the pion. Furthermore, the coupled channel region, in this case of pion-pion/Kaon-Kaon, is also studied for the first time in a lattice calculation. This work provides an essential proof of principle, as most resonances decay to multiple hadronic channels.

Best regards,

Caroline, Joe, Patrick and Zheng-Yang
