Dear all,

This Wednesday, May 22nd, at 1pm EDT, we will have a cake seminar given by Prof. Asmita Mukherjee of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) in F326-327. Due to limited seating, we will need to enforce an occupancy limit of 25 people in the room. Given this limitation, we will offer a live Zoom broadcast of the seminar. You can join the session using the link below:

Please, see title and abstract of Prof. Asmita talk below.

Cake Seminar: Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at 1pm EDT

Speaker: Asmita Mukherjee (IIT Bombay)

Title: Probing Gluon TMDs in J/psi production processes in eP Collision

Abstract: Gluon TMDs can be probed in an almost back-to-back production
of J/psi and a photon/jet/pion in ep collision. We present a summary of
our recent calculations of azimuthal asymmetries in such processes using a
TMD factorized framework, in the kinematics to be accessed by the upcoming
EIC. We use NRQCD to estimate the J/psi production, and use recent
parametrizations of the gluon TMDs. Our results show that the asymmetries
are sizable and will be useful to probe in particular the gluon Sivers
function and linearly polarized gluon distributions.

See you on Wednesday.

Best regards,
Caroline, Joe, and Zheng-Yang
