Dear all,

Tomorrow at 1:00PM EST, we will have a virtual seminar given by Ignacio Borsa Sanjuan of University of Tübingen on the Zoom for Government link:

https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/1606727651?pwd=8nF3lEWQmppLByNsgQnnEwiuJ00Mou.1

While this is not an in-person seminar, we encourage everyone, especially postdocs and students, to join us in person for the remote seminar streaming in CEBAF Center F324/325. Coffee and tea will be provided.

Please see below for the title and abstract.

Theory Seminar: November 11th, 1:00PM EST (virtual)

Speaker: Ignacio Borsa Sanjuan (University of Tübingen)

Title: The spin structure of the prton beyond NLO

Abstract: The study of the internal spin structure of the proton in terms of the contributions from quarks, anti-quarks and gluons, is a key focus of modern particle physics. These contributions can be described in terms of the longitudinally polarized parton distribution functions (pPDFs) or helicity PDFs, which are probed in high-energy scattering processes involving polarized nucleons.

In this seminar I will present the results of our recent next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) fully-global QCD analysis of the proton's helicity PDFs. Before commenting on the method and obtained results, I will make a short introduction about polarized collisions and the spin content of the proton.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Best regards,
Joe, Zheng-Yang, and Gloria
