Theory Seminar: November 18th, 1pm EST (hybrid)
Speaker: Christian Zimmermann (University of Kentucky)
Title: PDFs and DPDs from two-current matrix elements on the lattice
Abstract: The field of investigating the structure of hadrons on the lattice has evolved within the last years: While the focus was on moments of (generalized) parton distribution functions (PDFs/GPDs) in the past, new frameworks allow us to consider also their x-dependence. Moreover, more advanced distribution functions like transverse momentum dependent distribution functions (TMDs) are investigated. In this talk, I will describe our calculation of two-current matrix elements on the lattice. These can be used to study moments of double parton distributions (DPDs), which are essential to describe double parton scattering (DPS), the most important multi parton interaction (MPI) process at the LHC. Furthermore, two-current matrix elements can be related to PDFs via the operator product expansion (OPE) in a way that allows us to study the x-dependence of PDFs.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Best regards,
Joe, Zheng-Yang, and Gloria
